“A little old fashioned, but comfortable and value for money.”

I stayed here with my partner for 2 nights after seeing a cheap holiday deal on easyJet. I hadn't realised it was a business hotel until we got in a taxi from Schipol airport and the driver asked us if we were here to work! The taxi by the way cost us 39€ from the airport and same again on the way back and it took around 10-15 mins, I'm not sure of any other ways to get there. We got to the hotel and we were quite early for check-in, we arrived at around 10.30am, but the lady at reception was very friendly and welcoming and found us a room straight away that had already been cleaned from previous guests. The room was large and had 2 quite large single beds pushed together. The bathroom was quite big with 2 sinks, a big deep bath and separate shower, and the toilet was located next to the bathroom. The only flaw I had about the room was that there wasn't really anywhere I could do my hair, the only mirror was in the wardrobe and the plug socket was next to the room door, so it made it a little difficult to straighten my hair! Also the hair dryer in the bathroom didn't work. There is a large flat screen tv in the room with a couple of English channels, the beds were very comfortable and I slept really well until 7am the next morning when construction work started on the hotel! Breakfast is served from 7-10.30am and has a wide variety of food from cereals, fruits, croissants, bread, cheese, salami, a typical continental breakfast I suppose but me and my boyfriend enjoyed it. There is a bus stop directly opposite the hotel and you jump on the 170 that goes into Amsterdam central at a cost of 13€ for two people and you can use that ticket as many times as you want in that day and can travel all over, so the driver told us. The journey took about 40 mins. It is the same 170 that brings you back to the hotel, just be aware of where to catch the bus back from the centre. I have been to Amsterdam 3 times before whereas my boyfriend hadn't, so luckily I had a good idea of where to go. Also make sure you have plenty to eat if planning to go back to the hotel early as the bar only has a limited menu and there is only one restaurant next to the hotel but is quite pricey! We were almost tempted to call the Dominos Pizza which is nearby but thought that would be a bit cheeky so we waited until breakfast for food. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but just be aware that if you're wanting to enjoy the nightlife etc of Amsterdam that it is a 40-45 min journey to the centre.

“Nice Rooms, poor Breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2011

Don´t expect a Grand Hotel in location, size, look and Service.
Even the 4-Star Rating leaves me in doubt. A 3-Star would be abolutely enough in my opinion.

The location is at the outskirts of Amstelveen. Good, if you come by car and have Business to do in the Area. As the hotel is directly beside a quite frequented main street, make sure you don´t miss the side street to the Hotel from where you have to exit after 10 m eters again to reach the Hotel Yard. Parking Lot (outside) is free.

My room was quite big. More space then enough and to the "Garden Side" - well, no Garden available, but very quiet. Bathroom - big and clean - and Toilet - also clean - are separate and look nice.

The choice of TV-Channels can also be improved for the international guests.

Not at all 4-Star was the Breakfast, which on that day was prepared for a group of Travellers. Nobody asked me, if I am member of that group. Only later, after I finished my breakfast, I was advised that a brighter range of food (rolls, eggs, etc) had been available for me as an individual traveller.

Staff at the reception was ok in service - not extraordinary. The staff in the breakfast room...well, see my remarks above.

“bad!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

One of the worst hotel I 've stayed in my life. I checked in the evening, no one to help me with the luggage, i myself carried it to the third floor and i dont think it has more than 2 lifts.
No room services. When my friend asked for water-the receptionist replied- "Bathroom water is very pure",Room wasn't clean either. No good Tv channels. But it close to 1 or 2 indian restaurants and a bus point

“Only good for the price”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Rooms are dark and a bit dated, tv channels don't have array of American channels at all, no room service, no iron in the room, it does have a safe and the bathrooms are a good size but the lighting in the rooms are horrible and dated furnishings. It's close to our office location and it's used by our company so it's the only option as there are not many hotels in this area. Breakfast is included (ok breakfast) and internet is very cheap (about 5 euros)

“good in the summer, bad in the winter”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

Our company have a corprate deal at this hotel, it also a cheap overnighter for asian tours especially from china so the breakfast finishes quickly. Then there is no proper heat in the winter, then the bathrooms are the same age as my grandma and she is in a retirmenthome.

There is no Wifi, but a very good bar which i have had many late nighters in!

Room Tip: top floor is warmer than bottom floor.
