After a long road trip, I arrived here late at night and saw a pretty scary tiled, ugly highrise across from the Muffato Supermarket Parking Lot - "Well, this is not Bangkok or New York", I thought, and checked in. A sign in the lobby advertises the hotel as "the best in the region", a claim from the "4 Rodas" Guide.
The room was ok, a bit small and the desk squashed into a corner. Walls are paper thin and I could here my neighbors talk (although they were not loud). However, I had a good sleep and the bathroom was pretty new, clean with enough hot water. When I left for breakfast, I put the "Do Not Disturb" sign out, so that I could come up afterwards and not have to kick out the cleaning lady in the middle of work and also leave all my valuables laying around. Breakfast was fine (fruit, juice, cakes, eggs and bread) but in a somewhat cold and clinical dining hall.
However, when I came back up I saw that the do not disturb sign had been removed and the room made up - none of my stuff was missing but what is that sign good for, if you have no guarantee that you will be left alone? I see this as a privacy and security risk and would not stay here again, although everything else was ok. I hope my complaining to management will improve this.
