I was in Shimane for work for 2 days. Arranged by the organisation, I stayed in Hamada Green Rich Hotel. One thing I can say is I defnitely would not mind to stay more than a night. It is not just a hotel, but it has a very artisitc atmosphere, so much that you cannot imagine that you are staying in a town in Japan far away from Tokyo and being so near mountains and the sea. I love this hotel because it has everything you want in a hotel, free internet access, amenities (kettle, hair dryer, glasses), toilet is super clean and well equipped, and each room even has an alarm clock to wake you up! Breakfast was a mixture of continental and traditional japanese buffet. If you like, you can even have a bath in the public bath located downstairs. The hotel was also nice to give us a face mask and free scrub for ladies to use. It was really nice to stay here even though Shimane is a very quiet and small town.
