A beautifully restored house near Narbeth, this is one of Pembrokeshires little known secrets: an oasis of civilisation amongst beautiful countryside. Our suite (JP Seddon) was large yet cosy with an enormous bed and well appointed bathroom including, suprisingly for the age of building, an excellent powershower alongside the roll top bath. There is still some building going on to extend the terrace and add some rooms but we were not disturbed. The food is important to them here and it was good, intersting and locally sourced if a little over-presented. An interesting and reasonably prcied wine list with lots by the glass is commendable. The portuguese boys in the dining room are efficient and charming, the cheese board stunning and the breakfast worthy of comment.
Dont forget to go to Narbeth for some lunchtime tapas at Ultracomida the relaxed deli combined with local eating spot- be prepared for a short cue for the communal tables and the rest of the tiny high street is full of interesting places to shop.
