We came here during our world trip by car. It was a great place to stay for us, because it was quite affordable compared to other hotels, there was a large parking lot, and the staff were very helpful. We could print out documents for free, they brought us to the train station for free, the looked up information for us, etc.
The room was not super fancy but it had everything we needed. A fridge, a clean bath room, air con, a tv, and free wifi.

Unlike the so-called "5 star" hotels in KL, Histana's appearance is consistent with their humility. Hallways and rooms may be old, but still sanitary. Shower room had no bathtub but was spacious enough. TV and refridgerator may be small, but still useful. A great Chinese restaurant is also right next to it, along with another one that serves great Bakutei. The only problem would be unstable internet, which Malaysia is notorious for. Hallways are not well ventilated, so there is feeling of slight "suffocation" as you walk down.

Histana may not be the cream of the crop, but they still do their job as a hotel well enough. If you are on a honeymoon or on a getaway with your boy/girl friend, the run down look is a turn-off, so Histana is only recommended for those on business trips.

Stayed at the deluxe twin-bedroom at RM118 a night without breakfast. Room looks worn-out, but is still neat and tidy. Beds are clean. Bathroom with no bathtub inside, but it's very spacious. TV is rather small. Fridge available, so does electric kettle with tea & coffee. Sliding window could not be locked. Ample parking space, with security guard. Located along the Federal Highway Route II, about 2km away from the town centre. It's also next to a Chinese restaurant, and also Centro Mall, where there are some establishments like bank, fitness centre, F&B outlets, & minimart. The Hokkien Association is next to it too, with a bak kut teh store located behind it. Ask for a room that faces the highway for a better view.

We booked this hotel because we saw an offer on the web for three days two nghts sightseeing round the Kuala Lumpur area. followed by two nights in Kuala Lumpur. All this including breakfast and either lunch or dinner and full sightseeing program each day for about £150.00 per person. The hotel is a business class hotel, probably a 2/3 star. The owner Brian corresponded with us by email and was quite prepared to build a sightseeing trip completely around us. On arrival he met us personally, offered us a welcome fresh orange drink, and suggested we lunch (included) whilst the booking in was organised and our luggage was taken to our rooms. The hotel is currently being renovated, and the rooms that have been done are to a good standard. He tries to ensure that his tourists are given the renovated rooms. He then personally saw us off on to our first sightseeing tour to Kuala Selangor.
The hotel serves a full english breakfast, and try as we might to order less than the full breakfast, most times we got the lot. Always with a smile though. They tried really hard to please.
We are realistic enough not to expect five star for the price we paid. We decided that as we would be out from early morning until 10.00pm every night, that as long as the hotel was clean, and reasonable it would suffice. We were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was definitely good value, and Brian the owner tried his hardest to ensure that we had a good time. He really wanted feedback too, so that he can constantly improve his services The tours included were to Kuala Selangor, to a firefly colony, Crab Island, and Putrajaya, a Chinese temple and a half day tour of all the main sights in Kuala Lumpur, prior to our two night stay in the Hotel Malaya. The total package was really good value.
