“Great family suites”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

This is our second stay at the Westin Trillium. Just over two hours from Toronto it is great place to stay if you are skiing at Blue Mountain or the nearby Alpine Ski Resort. We had a one bedroom plus den which was more than adequate for two adults and three kids.

We were checked in and out by very helpful and friendly staff.

The master bedroom is a nice size with a king bed and very comfortable mattress. Plenty of drawer and closet space and a flat screen tv. The den is like a small bedroom with a double pull out sofa also with a flatscreen tv.

Living room has a gas fireplace (glass gets very hot so watch your children), pull out queen sofa, flatscreen tv with private balcony.

Kitchen was great with a full size fridge, stove top, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, pots and pans, dishes and glassware.

Bathroom has access from the den and the master bedroom. There is a large tub and standup shower.

The entire suite was clean and nicely decorated but was looking a bit worn. Still, very comfortable.

There are a couple of pools and hot tubs that are very usable even in winter. The kids had a blast swimming at 10:00 pm outside in January.

We ordered room service from Oliver & Bonacini. Our order arrived promptly even though we were told it would be about 40 minutes. The caesar salads were nothing special for about $12. We also ordered fries which I'm told were very good.

Blue Mountain Village is a very nice area with the ski hills right there and a bit of shopping and lots of restaurants.

Overall a very nice stay. We will be back.

“alone, a couple or group:)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I was fortunate to attend a conference at the The Westin Trillium House, Blue Mountain
220 Mountain Drive Blue Mountain, ON L9Y 9V9 Main line: [--]
It was just before the ski season hit. The scenery was very nice which made for a relaxing 2 days. Everything about the hotel room was both classy and warm. The view from the window was of a challet style town (of restaurants). There is something for everyone and no taxi is required to get to any of them. The staff everywhere I went were knowledgable and helpful. As an added bonus, the SCANDINAVE SPA BLUE MOUNTAIN: 152 Grey Road 21 Blue Mountain, ON L9Y 0K8 is a 5 minute drive from the hotel. I wished I had spent more time there...next time. And there will definately be a next time. You cannot come away from there feeling stressed. Sometimes its nice to leave things behind:)

“Great location and rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

I stayed at this hotel for one evening to attend a company event. The check in staff were efficient and friendly, the lobby large and welcoming. My room was ready when I arrived and was perfect in every way. Fully equipped with a comfortable king size bed, large screen TV, DVD player, fireplace, mini fridge, wet bar, toaster, coffee maker and all the plates and cutlery you would want. I did not need all of that, or the couches, but certainly made use of the dual head shower. An excellent place to stay and a great view of the ski hills from my room (room 273).

Room Tip: As for one closer to the lobby. Some are a long walk down the hallways.

“Not the best Westin you'll ever stay at...”

...but maybe not the worst either. Went for a quick 24 hour, during the first week of January, run to Blue Mountain when the weather was actually cold enough to make snow (it's been a mild winter so far). Have stayed and eaten at this hotel before prior to becoming a Trip Advisor member.

This time was generally no different than previous times...reasonably well maintained property, good location to the hills and village. As this was holiday time, the busy front desk couldn't handle the crowds at check in time, nor was there ample space between the front door and front desk - the lobby is poorly designed.

Although we arrived 2 hours early to get checked in, it took over 3 hours to finally check in. I fault the hotel only for the last hour following skiing - and having to wait in line for 30 minutes to do so.

Inadequate space in the lobby elevator wait area didn't provide for a pleasant experience. Long corridors provides the younger folk excellent runway space to take off down the hall at 7AM. Hey it's New Years.

Our 4th floor room faced the ski hill and entry to the underground. Some noise from the snow making machines, otherwise quiet. Room was clean with adequate space for 2. Flat screen cable TV. Bed comfortable. Washroom was standard. Room had mini fridge, dishwasher, microwave and coffee maker - all functioned. Quiet heating apparatus (a must for me). As we were there only one night, can't comment on housekeeping, but I saw them still making up rooms after 8:00PM following dinner.

Used outdoor large pool and hottub - clean and warm (temp. outside was about 0C).
Restaurant was noisy with kids, but service and food were good.

As others have noted, there is free parking at the east end of the hotel and pond but its a five minute walk back to the front door - you'll want to unload first. Be warned that when busy, check-ins and valet combined don't hold too many vehicles in the driveway at once.

For us, OK for a short stay. Oh yes, for those that care, free internet in lobby.
