Mistakenly,arrived one day early but this did not faze the management! Wonderful location with every bedroom overlooking the Pyrenees. Excellent restaurant with superb food and service with reasonably priced excellent local wine. Friendly English owner, John who could not do enough to please - neither could the rest of his staff. Rooms not overly large but newly refurbished - and it shows - with free wi-fi access. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and hope to return myself in the not too distant future.

we found this hotel by chance - we booked a room 2 days before going to Southern France. Website looked OK. But what a great surprise when we finally arrived there, driving through the very narrow streets going to the Cara Sol.
The place is very nice. The panoramic view from the terrace and rooms is outstanding. The restaurant is good. And the staff is very professional. The British owner is a cool guy, passionate about his place and his new region. Hotel is very well located: about 5-10 minutes drive to Argeles or St Cyprien (beaches) and 10-15 minutes away from Perpignan (largest city).
I strongly recommend you give it a try. Next time we visit this area, we will definitely stay there again.

We had an excellent weeks stay at the Cara-Sol, John is a fantastic host and he and his staff do everything possible to make your stay special. I would recommend this hotel highly to anyone both the quality of the accomodation (very clean and nicely furnished) and for the food which is excellent , plus eating on the terrace whilst overlooking the valley towards the mountains is just superb. The Hotel is also very well positioned as a base for exploring the local area, mountains and even Spain. Thankyou to you for a great stay!

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Cara Sol in Elne for 2 nights this past July. The hotel is situated high up in Elne, with magnificant views of the Pyrennees. The room was very clean, simply furnished with modern updated furniture, and was air conditioned. No complaints what so ever. A surprise for us was the standard of cuisine that we encountered in the restaurant. The food was superb. Don't miss it. The location is excellent for day trips. We chose to visit the Cathar Castles of Queribus and Peyrepertuse, which were spectacular. Collioure and the beach at Narbonne are closeby. Overall, we highly recommend staying at Hotel Cara Sol.
