I had a one night stay in this hotel and found it very comfortable. Having had dinner in Cumbernauld, the location means that a taxi is needed to get to the hotel. When in the taxi the driver asked me what I was doing here, when I said tourist, he couldn't believe it. I actually meant that I was up in Scotland for several days, not sightseeing in Cumbernauld!!
The check in was efficient and the room was very clean, and although the hotel is close to several main roads, there was no noise in the room. The mattress, bed sheets and towels were clean and I slept very well. An added bonus is that The Red Deer pub is opposite and serves a couple of real ales which is rare for the area and were very good in quality. The pub also serves food until late.
The only negative thing I can say is the location. As I was travelling by train the hotel is a 25-30 minute walk from Croy Railway Station and so factor in taxi fares on top of the hotel price. There is also a lack of pavements in Cumbernauld as it is a town for car drivers. As it is near the M80 motorway,it is a good location for people wanting to explore the Central Belt area by car, and gives a comfortable stay.
