“Superb value in good location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Have stayed here two times once with friends and once with wife and grown up daughters.
Accomodation consists of hotel room block situated beside the Inn itself.
Location is Cumbernauld and it sits right beside M8 allowing easy access into Glasgow Stirling and road to Edinburgh.
Both stays were offers allowing 3 nights for the price of two and icluded breakfast which while basic was plentiful and good and was superb value.
Rooms are clean spacious and comfortable.
Breakfast and other meals are taken in the Inn itself. Other meals are available in the Inn itself and are excellent and not expensive.
You do need a car to make this a suitable for sightseeing but I can thourly reccomend this hotel for anyone wanting to do Glasgow Stirling and Edinburgh on a budget

“We had been here before exactly one year earlier”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel. The rooms are modern, spacious, clean and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities. The bar and dining room are separate from the accommodation block but only a short walk. The bar has a fantastic atmosphere and the staff as friendly as only the Scots can be. There is a wide variety of beers and wine. The dining room has an extensive menu at pub prices. My wife and I chose to have my birthday dinner there on 28th August 2010 and again in 2011.
Our visit from Australia was cut short in 2010 when I had an emergency visit to The Monklands Hospital. The staff were wonderful to us. Our holiday which we had just started was brought to a sudden end.
My wife and I booked again the following year and enjoyed a birthday dinner once again.
I cannot rate this hotel high enough except that, on our second visit, we were given a packaged breakfast rather than a sit down breakfast in the dining room.
The hotel is a first class base for day trips to Edinburgh, Stirling, Loch Lomond and the Clyde resorts..

Room Tip: The bar closes at eleven pm. You can take a drink back to the room

“Pleasant Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2010

On check in (in the restaurant), we found that the staff were pleasant. When entering the hotel itself, it is unclear that the key fob attached to the key ring with room key on it is required to open the front door, and this was not explained at check in. Overall, the rooms were clean and of an acceptable standard. However, in our room the mirror was off the wall, lying on the floor, with the holes for fixings on the all exposed. There was also some evidence of dampness on the ceiling that had not been addressed. Also, the kettle provided did not work properly - the water coming out of the tap was hotter than the water in the kettle after it had 'boiled'.
The breakfast was of a good standard, with a good continental breakfast range on offer on the buffet. However, there were only a few cups and glasses put out at a time for juice/tea and coffee, and these were slow to be replaced after used.
Overall, a pleasant stay.
