“What a Find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2011

From the moment we arrived Gwendda and Clive were the most attentive hosts. After helping wioth our bags, Clive showed us to our room and welcomed us with tea and home made cake. Our room - number 3 - was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. The beds proved to be very comfortable and, as I am slightly disabled, attention to detail including, for example, a long-handled shoehorn, made our stay a real pleasure. The blue-tiled bathroom was a real surprise and even had a sunken whirlpool bath, separate shower and bathrobes provided. Our room had direct access through large patio doors into the garden which, with its hidden walks, colourful flowerbeds, waterfall, pond and seating, provided an ideal spot to watch the local wildlife. Breakfast was outstanding. There was a self-service fruit and cereals bar, which was followed by Clive taking our order for the freshly cooked full English with a massive choice. The creamy scrambled eggs with smoked salmon surpassed the dish we have had in many top country hotels. Plenty of time to chat with fellow guests over toast and croissants afterwards, along with unlimited coffee. Note - there was also a heated indoor swimming available. A memorable three-night stay. We will be back.

Room Tip: Room 3 very comfortable and quiet - no passing traffic

We stayed here July 2011 and found this really comfortable, excellent decor and garden, a good base for exploring Shropshire. Excellent bedroom and breakfast. Owners helpful and friendly.

“Wonderful place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 May 2011

We stayed with Gwendda and Clive in their lovely home. They made us feel very welcome and were so helpful with tips on places to visit and booking us dinner at local restaurants. The room was lovely with the best comfy bed, quiet with everything you could wish for on hand. Would recommend to anyone.
All the best to you both

“One of the best B&B's I've ever stayed in.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2010

As part of my hobby, motorsport, we travel all over the country and stay in many B&Bs. The standards are very variable and we have frequently never returned to some of the B&Bs we've used. However, Lyth Hill House is one of the very best we've used; A friendly greeting, comfortable beds, peace and quiet, plenty of hot water for showers and the best food we've ever had at a B&B. We swapped our breakfast one day for a packed lunch, the quality and variety of which was superb; no limp sandwiches here! The other day we stayed we had the cooked breakfast; my mouth is watering as a type this. Altogether a fabulous B&B and we will definitely be back next year.

“Very highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 March 2010

Our family of four stayed at Lyth Hill House for two nights in March 2010.
Clive and Gwendda were there to greet our arrival even though we were quite late arriving on a Friday evening. Immediate impressions were good, we were made very welcome and felt very comfortable right from the moment we stepped inside this lovely house.
Our rooms were well furnished and very clean. A good selection of refreshments were available in each room. There was a good size flatscreen tv with access to sky channels if we wanted them. Moving on to the beds....wow, what very comfortable and clean beds we had. The double bed was a good size and we slept very well. Infact it was a shame to have to get out in the mornings! BUT....If I had not got out of bed, I would have missed a lovely pre-breakfast swim in the indoor pool. The pool was nicely heated, there was a changing room with shower available, plus a real big bonus of bath sheets and robes available to wrap yourself in after the swim.
Clive and Gwendda provided the best breakfast we have had in any guest house. Nothing was too much trouble, the choice was superb and fresh baked bread rolls too!
We would highly recommend Lyth Hill House, it's peaceful location and wonderful accommodation, along with the charming Clive and Gwendda, made it a 5 star stay for us. Thank you.
