We just returned from a 5 day stay in unit #402. This is a 2 bedroom plus loft unit. The master bedroom has a king sized bed. Fair warning-it is actually 2 twins with a converter and if you like very firm beds you will certainly enjoy this one. There is a master bath with a tub/shower. The second bedroom consists of 2 twin beds. Another full bathroom with a tub/shower is located across the hall from this bedroom. The loft contains another king sized bed exactly like the one in the master bedroom. There's another full bathroom off of the living room with a separate tub and shower. The kitchen has nice appliances and is appointed with plenty of dishes, glasses and silverware. Cookware and cooking utensils are very basic. There was detergent for the dishwasher, but no dishwashing soap. We bought some in the store downstairs. There is a coffee maker and filters, but you need to bring your own coffee and supplies. TV with cable is in each bedroom, loft and living room. We did have some small issues with using the remote control in the living room. There is a gas fireplace in the living room and one in the master bedroom. These are on timers that go up to a max of 30 minutes at a time. There are two tiny balconies-one off of the living room and one off of the dining area (adjacent to the living room). I believe they're called Juliette balconies? They aren't really big enough to stand out on, but it's nice to open the doors and look out at what's going on outside in front of the building. The dining table is large, and I believe there were 6 chairs...we used the breakfast bar mostly, which is large and has 4 barstools. There is a washer/dryer in the unit, but is locked up and not for renters' use. The walls are quite thin. We could hear a lot of noise from our neighbors and on the first night the room below us complained that we were making a lot of noise from 1 am to 5 am. I am sorry that they were bothered, but swear on the life of my first born child that no one was up in our unit during those hours.
The building itself is not beautiful or fabulous, but definitely nice enough. There is guest laundry, which consists of 1 stacked washer/dryer. The hot tub and sauna is kind of grungy looking, but seemed fine. Certainly nothing to write home about. The restaurant turned out to be a bright spot for us. Good food and our waitress was excellent. We had one lunch and one dinner there. The ski locker attendants were also excellent. They were very nice and super helpful. The location of these condos is absolutely the best part. It is literally steps from the lift and ski school.
We rented unit #402 through Taos Ski Valley Properties. We did receive instructions for our arrival, but did not receive any instruction for departure. The lady at the front desk said that we should remove our trash and wash our dishes, which I guessed was the case. She told us to leave our keys with her. If we have the opportunity to go again (and I hope we do) we will likely rent through the condos themselves. We were supposed to contact the rental company with anything we needed instead of the front desk, which just doesn't make good sense to me.
Overall, the experience was great and everyone had a fabulous time!
