I participated with Crescent Ski Council with 138 participants from Ski Clubs from the Southeast US. Snakedance was everything we were told it would be!! Family run by Roger Mariani and his wife, Diana, and their daughters, I have never stayed at a condo complex where we were literally taken in as part of the Mariani family!!! The units were all very nice and well decorated (all privately owned), housekeeeping was incredible, the front desk was right there for us all week. We had about 90 participants staying at Snakedance and the rest of the group in the Town of Taos at El Pueblo and Roger made sure the shuttles for the El Pueblo group were arranged to get everyone on the mountain for all of our events. I love the fleece vest that Snakedance gives to everyone staying there. It was so great to be temporarily a part of the Mariani family for a week. I highly recommend Snakedance as the place to stay in Taos Ski Valley. Kudos to the Mariani family (and to Travis Weber, Group Sales Director for Taos Ski Valley for getting us to Taos to begin with). Great trip!!!

Convenient and wonderful service! Some folks didn't like the breakfast but you can't please everyone. I thought it was fine since it was included with our condo. The ski lift is just a few steps outside the door. You leave your skis and boots downstairs and they dry your boots for you! This is included with your room. I can't wait to go back!

The condo had some drawbacks but was still worth paying extra for as ther location is fantastic the the rooms are very nice

The hottub was average at best and the restaurant was not the best, but that was the only issue. Being right at ther base of the lift made it so convenient for the whole family. We did not have to rely on a shuttle and everyone could come in and out from the slopes at will

We returned this last weekend from a 4-day trip at Snakedance, and we're still recovering from our uncomfortable stay. Our room (#207) was sandwiched between the pinon-smoky lobby and someone who walks like Frankenstein in the middle of the night in the room above us. Our thermostat appeared to be broken in our bedroom, causing us to sweat all night long from non-stop radiant heat from the floor--or maybe it was the lobby fireplace. We couldn't figure it out. Our noses began to bleed from the first night on, and we think it was the pinon and dry conditions in the room. I couldn't breathe out of my nose at all! Every time I entered the lobby, where the fire was constantly burning, my eyes would itch and gum up, then the sneezing would start. Our girls began to have symptoms as well--our 7-year-old's nose began to bleed on the final day. The ceilings are low in the room, and thin. So you can hear every step, and every door and drawer open and close from the room above. Also, the breakfasts are yucky, simply yucky. How hard is it to provide fresh cream cheese, not turned, curdled, sour cream cheese? How hard is it to make scrambled eggs, hash browns and waffles? The eggs were cold and mealy, the hash browns were actually white--so were the waffles! The atmosphere in the restaurant was depressing. No one seemed to enjoy their meals. We saw entire tables with untouched plates of food abandoned by guests. I would NOT stay here again. It was uncomfortable and disappointing. If we decide to go to Taos again, we will probably choose the Edelweiss. Seemed very clean and new--prettier rooms and better restuarant for sure! We had decent pizza there one night. :)
