My husband and I recently drove to Taos Ski Valley, NM and we stayed at the Cottam Lodge, which is apart of Alpine Village but it is a stand alone building 1.5 miles away from the main Alpine Village location. This wouldn't have been so bad had we not gone during the Arctic Blast that blew threw while we were in route there. We stayed in Studio D and it was cozy and cute for the money that we paid. There was room for 2 people, 1 bed, and our 2 small Shih Tzus. The staff were very accommodating and drove us to and from our studio to the main Alpine Village location, which is near the ski area, due to the weather and ice. We tipped the drivers and they were very appreciative every time. We would stay there again but would opt to pay the extra money to lodge at the main Alpine Village location which is feet away from the ski lifts, ski rental shop, village shops, and eateries! The ammenaties are nice BUT if you are not staying at the main location then it is NOT PRACTICAL. Also, the Cottam's Lodge studios do not have phones in the rooms so you must communicate w/the front desk (main location) via email (which we did not know about) or cell phone. We had "touch and go" signal on our cells and you have to get the password for the Free Internet at the front desk at check-in.
NOTE: ALL STUDIOS ARE NOT LOCATED at the Main Alpine Village location. They are all 1.5 miles down the hill from the check-in office.
