“Approach road makes you wonder ......”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 February 2012

The road to this property makes you think you might have made a terrible mistake, but once inside things do look a lot better!
Rooms/cottages are arranged in ones, twos and threes on a series of terraces rising above a stream. At the top there is a swimming pool and spa facility and at the bottom the reception and restaurant.
Our room was spacious and fairly comfortable. The en-suite bathroom was very modern in design, but not very practical to use - too many slipping/tripping hazards and awkward reaches.
The food was variable - some very good, some pretty awful. Drink choice limited and expensive.
Pool and sunbathing area was OK.
Unfortunately the tranquillity of the setting was marred by chanting and music from a nearby temple, broadcast at 5:30 am and at random times throughout the day.

“Excellent - highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 February 2012

As you approach the hotel up an isolated dirt track, you feel apprehensive about what it will be like, but as soon as you step through the entrance gate you can see what a beautiful and relaxing place it is!

The staff are very friendly and helpful (especially Shirley!), the food is very good and reasonably priced, and the individual bungalows are lovely. Massages are also recommended.

The only slightly negative point was that the swimming pool looked quite cloudy and I certainly would not risk swimming in it.

Otherwise, highly recommended and I wish we could have spent more than two nights there!

“a basic resort in a beautiful setting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

The setting is beautiful but be aware it is totally isolated. The facilites are basic and in my honest opinion it is overpriced for what you get. Staff more than helpful. Worth going there if for nothing else except the massage.

I enjoyed the food especially on my second night which was a buffet style that thrilled the palate. The wifi was welcome. It seriously needs to upgrade its facilites to give customers better value for money. One example of this is, the massage rooms have excellent showers whereas the room I was in had an outdated and poorly fitted shower head. This I believe has nothing to do with preserving and contributing to eco tourism but I suspect rather, a serious reluctance to reinvest in the facility. It was a nice but 2 nights more than enough

Room Tip: the standard elegent room is very basic

“Jungle Garden Retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

A lovely oasis of well-kept property: Bungalow rooms arranged up a hillside with plants and statuary in between. We were welcomed and offered the choice of two rooms - the 'elegant' room we had booked (nice, two rooms to a bungalow, sited between the reception/restaurant building and the pool) or a free upgrade to a traditional Keralan Cottage (nice too, lots of dark wood, little reception area as well as bedroom, right on the edge of the property with jungle (well, cardamom plantation) right outside, private and not overlooked, right beside the pool.) Which do you think we chose?

Ayurvedic massage and therapies available at very reasonable prices. Good wifi in the htoel reception area. Unfortunately, the pool water was too cold to be comfortable. Food was a bit variable, but nice.

“beautiful resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

We reached our resort late at night and we were the view of the entrance made us feel comforted that we had chosen the right resort for our short weekend break.the location of the resort is far away from the hustle bustle of the main tourist area.
The cottages are spread in between tall trees that created a truly dreamlike atmosphere.
The rooms were comfortable and spacious but on our first night we were feeling really warm due to the lack of a fan or an AC. we were not aware that we could request for a fan and the next day we felt really comfortable.
There is a pretty pool in the resort which we did not use but we used the services of a relaxing massage at the massage centre.
The resort has several living area and lounges that are very cosy to enjoy a late evening drink.
The food is very average.
The hotel will help you organise for all the jungle trips and activities.
Overall a great resort and i would highly recommend it.
