booked a room through the logis de france website hoping to enjoy a good dinner in their restaurant as recommended in the previous review. so we were rather annoyed and disappointed to be told at reception that it was closed. there is no mention on the hotel's website or the logis website that it is not open on certain days in october nor did the receptionist offer any reason for the closure eg illness. no staff etc.
there were no other eateries within walking distance so we had to return to the car and drive to mercurey where we did find a typical french village restaurant which was very welcoming and excellent value. however the driver (my husband) did have to restrict his wine intake which, seeing we were in the burgundy vineyard area, he didn't really want to do . also ,if you had been driving a long distance during the day you do not really want to get back in the car to drive yet again. fortunately we had only driven 100 miles or so.
no problems with the room ~ well furnished with good shower room. free wifi. own terrace with furniture to enjoy the warm autumn sunshine. buffet breakfast was also very good.
pretty garden and pool. ample parking
however if we'd known in advance of the restaurant's closure i would not have even considered this hotel because of its position away from alternatives.
so beware ~ contact the hotel directly to confirm food is available
