“8th Return Visit....”

2011 was our 8th return visit and once again, we still found the same magic that we found on our first visit. All the staff from the Manager to the Pool Attendants make your visit so special. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, towels & linen changed daily and spotlessly clean. Meal times are also quite special with an excellent variety of dishes well presented and prepared. The Hotel is ideally situated by the beach in a quiet area with the bus stop right outside the Hotel. One of the best things we did was to take advantage of using the Spa for a massage which was excellent. It truly is an amazing Hotel.

Room Tip: Book a room with a sea view or upgrade to a Superior room.

“JUST LOVELY”

Just returned from 2 week stay at Palladium and hard to find fault with any aspect of the hotel. Immaculately clean, good food, comfortable beds, plent of clean towels and bed linen changed daily if required. Helpful pleasant staff eager to please. Evening entertainment is low key and bar prices expensive in comparison with those in England. Good supply of DVDs free of charge if you have a plyer in your room (or take your own). Hotel beach is stop off point for ferry to Rhodes Town/Faliraki and local buses stop outside the hotel. Would not hesitate to return or to recommend to others.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments on your recent stay at the Rodos Palladium Leisure & Wellness.

It is always rewarding to learn that you had a lovely time in our resort and would like to thank you for the favorable comments made, especially for our staff, and for not hesitating to return or recommend us to other holidaymakers.

Evening entertainment is slightly affected in most resorts towards the last two weeks of the season and would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused in regards to that.

We were also happy to read that our DVD rental service proved to your satisfaction and note that all our superior rooms and suites are equipped with a DVD player.

Once again thank you for sharing your experience at the Rodos Palladium and very much hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the not so distant future.

Best Regards,

“SUNDAY NIGHT AT THE PALLADIUM”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

As you will gather from the reviews of this hotel the overall opinion is of a superb well run hotel which delivers on all accounts. great food, service and a good standard through out. From the time you arrive you are made welcome by extremely warm reception staff which makes for a good start to any holiday. The hotel is well suited to couples, families with children and also suitable for elderly and disabled as it is situated on flat land making access easy. The only down side is the hotel bar prices but there are some small bar with in walking distance which are more pleasing to the wallet. As we stayed the last week of the season the entertainment was very low key but a special thanks to George in the piano bar who entertained us all week with a smile and great music" what a gem he is" To sum up this hotel," it is safe to say you will not be disappointed if you choose to stay here"

Room Tip: Be care full when in the old town of Rhodos, if the prices are not displayed ask for the menu as the...

“Fantastic Hotel worthy of all it's 5 stars”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011
1
person found this review helpful

We arrived here at 6am which was a delay of approximately 9 hours as we were unfortunate enough to get caught up in the Greek air traffic control strike. We were greeted by a smiling receptionist and then a porter loaded our luggage on to his trolley and escorted us to our room. It is a very large hotel and my initial view was that we were going to find navigating our way round the hotel complicated. However this was not the case at all as you are supplied with a map of the building and everything is laid out in a very logical fashion. As we'd missed our evening meal due to no fault of the hotel's they had left us 2 plates of cold meats and snacks plus a bottle of wine. The room, 6011 was spotlessly clean and very spacious with more wardrobe space than I've ever seen in a hotel room before. There was a full set of toiletries ie shampoos and shower gel which were replenished on a daily basis. There was also a fridge in the room which came in very handy and was also free of charge. I spotted a kettle but can't comment any further on drink making facilities as we never actually made any hot drinks while we were there. Our room which had a balcony was only a few feet from the sea and on the other side the dining room was also only feet away. The pool was also only a one minute walk away. The sunloungers were padded and very comfortable. My Husband did complain about the music one day and I can quite understand why. There were about a dozen of us by the pool, all over the age of 40 and the young lads who gave the towels out were playing music which was distinctly tailored to the tastes of the under 25's. As soon as he broached the subject though it never happened again. If there had been lots of youngsters by the pool we would have quite understood the choice of music but there wasn't a teen in sight. I don't think location wise in the hotel we could have hoped to have been anywhere more convenient. We would have liked a double bed but had to make do with 2 large singles pushed together which wasn't ideal. Both outdoor and indoor pools were spotless. There was also a Jacuzzi which wasn't overly impressive, the water wasn't very warm and the jets didn't seem to be powerful enough. There was also a gym which was very well equipped and like the jacuzzi free to use. There was WIFI although I didn't use it. I logged on to the computers on H floor and paid via the slot meter. The rate was around 1 euro for 12 minutes. The big down side to this hotel and much of Rhodes in general was how expensive things were. I had a cut and blow at the hotel salon and my husband had a number three all over, we were in there for only half an hour and it cost us 69 euros! The Spa looked inviting and I fancied a few of the treatments but not at those prices thank you! On the drinks side a fresh orange with our dinner was 4 euros 50, half a bottle of house wine 9 euros and 40 cl of local Mythos Lager 4 euros. I spotted Ouzo on the drinks list one night for 4 euros and ordered it and was charged 3 euros for a small bottle of Sprite lemonade to go with it. Total cost therefore 7 euros for an Ouzo and Lemonade! We tended to go about half a mile up the road to the Illios bar where the drinks were much cheaper and hospitality good. All the staff at the Palladium were extremely helpful, especially Maria in the dining room. Although we are by no means budget travellers we just didn't spend much time at the hotel drinking as on principal we didn't like being ripped off. The food was to die for, every night there was a millionaires buffet, the three samples of what was on the main menu was displayed outside the restaurant which you ordered when you reached your table and also helped yourself to a buffet which was just too comprehensive to detail. It amazed me with all this marvellous food available that so many of the un-adventurous English people filled their plates with chips. Sundays seemed to be Greek buffet night. Breakfast was also superb. There was a full range of traditional English Breakfast items along with croissants and various other pastries not to mention cereals and cold meats. There was plenty of fruit juice and waiting on staff patrolling regularly to refill coffee cups. There was also a varied selection of tea and oddly enough bottles of champagne as well which it appeared was free by the glass. The toasting machine was very slow and definitely needs upgrading. There are DVD players in the bedrooms and you can borrow DVD's from reception free of charge. There were two buttons inside your hotel room door, you switch on the green one when you are going out in the morning and ready for maid service and you press the red one if you're having a lie in and don't want to be disturbed. What an excellent system. Kalithea itself isn't particularly busy, there is the Epsillon shopping centre up the road and on the other side the Illios bar which I've already mentioned. We drew money out of the cashpoint in the Epsillon Centre a fair few times and I've just checked my Bank statements and discovered that we were charged 3.50 each time we withdrew 200 euros. There is also a water park within walking distance and a regular bus service to Lindos which is well worth a visit with it's Accropolis and stunning views. There is also a bus to Faliraki which is only a couple of miles away. We visited a couple of times but it was pretty tacky and very quiet as well. Apparently it's very busy there for three months of the year and then it goes dead. We also went to rodos Town and Mandraki harbour and took a boat ride around the harbour on a glass bottomed boat which was worth the 10 euros. Also once you get to Rodos there are buses to other parts of the Island. We booked our holiday with Thomson and this is a Platinum Hotel. As already mentioned we were delayed for 9 hours on the way there and then on the Monday before we were due to depart on the Wednesday Thomson posted a notice up to say there was a another Greek strike planned although not yet confirmed. We had a meeting with our Rep Ricky on the Tuesday evening who said that the 48 hour strike had now been confirmed and he'd already made arrangements for us to stay in the Palladium for another night and was going to inform us as soon as he knew what time our amended flight slot was going to be. Amazingly that evening while we were out we received a text from Thomson to say that no delays were expected and to proceed to the airport as normal. As soon as we got back to the hotel we went to H lounge and found a bulletin from Ricky to all Thomson clients to say that the strike had been reduced to 12 hours. He was so good that he'd been round the dining room telling people that the situation had changed and updating them.Of course we missed him because we were at Illios bar watching the footie. We didn't actually miss any news though because Thomson had texted us while we were there. Top marks to Ricky and Thomson though, the situation was dealt with very professionally and the changing circumstances were conveyed to us without delay. Apart from a few very minor points I would recommend this Hotel to anyone, it is possibly the best I have ever stayed in. The weather wasn't terribly kind to us which is a chance you take when holidaying on Rhodes in October. However, the current economic climate in Greece which resulted in these strikes and also with the exorbitant prices in general I think it will be some years before I go to Greece or any of the Greek Islands again. I went to Malta only in May and was paying a fraction of the price for things. We could get a bottle of wine there for 8 euros with our dinner and a bus ride to almost anywhere for just over 1 euro. The staff of course at the Palladium were all second to none but many people in the service industry outside of the hotel were far from helpful and only too eager to rip us off. It is my feeling that the Greek Islands will soon see a slump in their tourist industry. They just don't seem to realise that there are so many choices available to people now in terms of country and resort.

Room Tip: Ask for a room near the dining or the sea, you're close to everything there. Room 6011 was just...

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel on Tripadvisor.

We were delighted to read that you had enjoyed your stay with us and that you found the hotel to be worthy of its’ reputation and star rating.

Thank you also for praising our service and characterizing our staff to be second to none as well as for the comments made in regards to the room booked.

We feel sorry to note about the incident with the music at the pool however we are glad to see that this was rectified as soon as it was reported and did not occur since then.

As far as the prices are concerned, we would like to clarify that pricing differs from country to country due to the taxation level involved and assure you that our beverage prices are aligned to what other five star hotels charge.

We would also like to thank you for pointing out the issue with the Jacuzzi, which has already be taken into consideration. The fault with some of the jets in the Jacuzzi area has recently occurred with the hotel currently waiting for replacement parts ordered from abroad. We are genuinely sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.

Once again thank you for your favorable comments and very much hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back at the Rodos Palladium should you decide to visit Rhodes again in the future.

Warm Regards,
Rodos Palladium

“SUPERB HOLIDAY AGAIN”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011
1
person found this review helpful

Not long back from our ninth visit to the Palladium. My wife and I always regard this as the best hotel we have visited outside the UK. Very welcoming and laid back with many of the very friendly staff having been there for ten tears or more. Food is excellent, particularly the served course and this year the cold buffet had shown an improvement on the past. All aspects of the service in the rooms, reception, restaurant and beach were excellent as usual but we were disappointed about the loss of mattresses for the beach sun beds.
This year there was a 24 hour air traffic strike on the day we were due to leave. Our total delay was 11/12 hours and Thomsons who should have looked after us left us on our own with a token for 7 Euros each whilst the Hotel response was far in excess of what may have been expected. 50 guests were due to fly home, many of whom were members of the Rodos Palladium Club and as a result were allowed to keep on their rooms for an extra 6 hours without charge. In addtion, those guests on earlier flights were allowed to have dinner without charge. This must have been at considerable cost to the hotel for which we were all very grateful on what turned out to be a long and arduous day.
This hotel is well worth a visit. The weather in Rhodes in late September into October remains hot and we can recommend joining the Palladium Club for many extras that it provides at no cost to yourself. We already know that some regular guests have already booked again for 2012 but sadly not with Thomson's as they have lost their contract to have guests at this hotel. Dear Valued Guests,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback from your recent experience at the Rodos Palladium.

We were delighted to read that you had a superb holiday for the ninth time in our resort and that you found all aspects to be as per your satisfaction, namely food, service and facilities.

Thank you also for mentioning the improvement experienced at the cold buffet since last year and for raising your concern about the loss of mattresses for the beach sun beds; something that has been taken into account.

We were also very pleased to read your opinion about our customer loyalty scheme, the Palladium Club, which offers numerous benefits at no extra cost, including the free late check-out mentioned (benefits are scaled based on the number of times our resort was visited). Finally, we would like to take this opportunity and put things right in terms of giving credit for the extra dinner to the Tour Operator mentioned in your review, as per our previous Tripadvisor responses in regards to this issue.

Once again thank you for your feedback and very much hope that you will visit us for the 10th time at the Rodos Palladium for yet another superb holiday in Rhodes!

Best Regards,
