Four of us (three sisters in 20s and Mum) stayed for five nights in the larger lodge overlooking the pool and had a wonderful time, even better than we were hoping for! The lodge was spacious, with a huge sitting room, lovely interiors, clean and extremely homely. The veiws from our balcony were amazing and the open fire made up for us each night by the gardener was a lovely touch that was much appreciated. The staff couldn't have been more accomodating and genuine - a real asset to Maroc Lodge. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was very relaxed and tranquil. We ate in the restuarant area each night where we were given a variety of moroccon dishes, all fresh and delicious - including fresh olives, bread, salads and tagines. Breakfast was on our balcony each morning which was a real treat to wake up to. On Christmas day Latifa, who takes guided walks, took us on an amazing, all-day mountain walk where we were given a real insight into Berber life and met some lovely people along the way - a real pleasure to be well off the tourist trail and be able to dip into genuine moroccan life. We had an incredible picnic provided by the lodge and carried with us by donkey. A fantastic, memorable day. Beatrice and Bruno, the proprieters, are delightful, extremely welcoming and interesting people - you really felt like you were their guests. Having initially been concerned when we booked the holiday that we wouldn't find enough to do each day we really did not want to leave and could have easily stayed for a week. This is an ideal place to stay if you want to take a step back and experience real morocco but with a bit of luxury. Maroc Lodge would not suit those looking for mod-cons and hotel style accomodation, with all the bells and whistles, which makes it an amazing find for those who want a genuine tranquil break with walks, reading and a bit of culture. Exactly what we were looking for. Thank you Maroc Lodge for making our holiday so special.
