Cuba retreat is located in mandrem which is not frequented by your usual touristy crowd. The place is not so far away from the main Mandrem market. The rooms were clean and were air conditioned. I would say you need a/c in Goa as it gets quite hot in the day.

Overall the Hotel is nice and clean, the best part is the service & food, which is pretty good and did not spoil any of our stomachs. The pricing of dishes are pretty good if you compare it with rates prevlant in other parts of Goa. The best part is also the close proximity of the beach from the Hotel which again isnt crowded like say Arambol or Calangute.

I would definately recommend this hotel or couple or family.

Loved the atmosphere, great staff, very accomodating, it was easy to switch rooms if the TV was broken, only thing to beware is ground floor room is very hot without airconditioning. The food was very good, I had a chance to get a beach hut but I preferred the Cuba

We all the management team of Channel V Nokia indiafest 2011 were in goa from dec29 to jan 5. That was a nice experience staying in Goa with team. We get into the hotel in the afternoon of 29th dec after a long tiresome travel and were pleased by the welcome.
The drinks and food quality was good, especially the sea-food. The rents of rooms were also affordable. Rooms were clean and the room service was also good. Sightseeing around hotel is pleasant and the location is also too good.
Overall the stay was very nice and we all were pleased by the service offered. Just the negative thing is that if you are going for any event management or business purposes, the timing for food preparation is too much and you have to wait for it.

We were a group of 6 people ( 3 couples ) and had only visited Mandrem on day trips before. On the recommendation of a good friend we decided to give the 'Cuba Retreat' a go and what a good decision it was. Kevin was so good to us and he made our stay so enjoyable. Our group ages ranged from 60 to 67 and it was a wonderful start to our holiday. We only stayed there for 7 days and then moved on south for a further 2 weeks....we wish we had stayed longer and will do on our next visit. The food was good and my wife never stopped telling us all that she had tasted the best Butter Chicken ever !
Yes it is dusty and the power is unpredictable but hey, the sun is always shining and you are in the company of beautiful , generous people. This is not 5 star accommodation and there is no mini-bar but it is how to relax and watch the world go by. How could we not come back ?
