We chose to stay at Salzburger Hof Resort on our circle tour of Lake Superior, and it was definitely one of the most welcoming stops of our trip. This is a family ran resort, and they absolutely do everything they can to help you enjoy your stay and make you feel appreciated. We stayed in the motel portion of the resort, and I'd classify the room as rustic - but that is just what we were looking for and expected in this rural location along the Lake Superior shore. It is a very quiet and peaceful setting, so quiet in fact that we were lulled awake in the morning by the pleasing sound of dew dripping from the adjacent roof overhang on to our portion of the roof. What I enjoyed most about Salzburger Hof was the food! The main dining lounge offers the most delicious, authentic German-Austrian fare that you could hope to find on this side of the Atlantic. And breakfast in the Club Gazebo was equally delectable. Our hosts also went out of their way to map out scenic sites along our path that we might otherwise miss as we continued around the lake. This is definitely one of the friendliest places to stay on Lake Superior.

Unit 5 was a home away from home for 2 nights. Dinner was delicious and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly.

This is a family owned resort. They are very friendly. The rooms are great for the price. The view of Lake Superior is amazing. The on-site restaurant is delicious. The setting is very quiet and out of the way.

We saw the reviews on Tripadvisor and decided that we would take our motorcyle this far into Northern Ontario hoping that our stay would be as comfortable as anticipated. We had a wonderful time. Clean cozy room, fresh breezes and views of Lake Superior that you could never dream of. The hosts and staff were warm, friendly and made it very difficult to leave. We will return and bring our family with us,
