4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

very good value for the price we paid. Had evening meal food was very good and there was a good choice. Room was warm although it was freezing outside. We had good view of the river from our room I bet in the spring or summer it is very pretty.
We booked trough a Groupon deal did,nt know what to expect but were very glad we booked will certainly return for another break.

“GREAT WEEKEND BREAK FOR US AND THE DOG!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Another Groupon deal. On discovering the hotel was 'dog - friendly' we decided to buy the deal and we found the hotel to be very comfortable, friendly and the food extremely good and very well presented. This was our dog's first experience of a hotel and she thoroughly enjoyed it ( even though she didn't get the sausage promised at breakfast!). We were able to eat our meals in the bar so that she could stay with us ( dog's not allowed in the main restaurant - understandably).
We had a pleasant ground floor room, overlooking the river. Everything was spotlessly clean and very warm on a cold winter weekend. There seemed to be some refurbishment about to start as we left so would certainly recommend this as a place to stay this Spring / Summer.

“Very good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

A Groupon deal. Excellent value - very good food, good service, warm fire, comfortable. We did not expect such a high standard for the price we paid. However, the situation is not ideal - North end of the Broads - and nothing at all to do in the middle of winter, which is why, I suspect, the deal was offered. We didn't mind - we enjoyed our stay with the comfortable surroundings and friendly staff; it was a welcome and relaxing break. Highly recommended.

“An excellent stay in the country”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

We spent a weekend here and enjoyed it very much. The welcome was very friendly and we were fortunate to be allocated a large (disabled) room with plenty of space. There was a little noise from the adjacent main road, but not enough to cause any difficulty. It is a little isolated and local alternatives for an evening meal are limited, but we found the meals and food at the Wayford Bridge to be excellent, The service and ambiance was very relaxing despite the restaurant being very busy with visiting diners - a good sign. The staff were exceptionally friendly and the costs for our stay represented very good value. If we are in the area again we will definitely consider this hotel for a base.

“Enjoyable stay, good value”

Amazing value through a Groupon deal, the room was comfy though maybe a little dated - cosy in the dead of winter. It all worked though. Food was surprisingly good. Smoked haddock and poached egg for breakfast brilliant, and the dinners were substantial and of typical inn quality. Everyone was very friendly and helpful - earnest service rather than classy. Even to the extent of staff going to Tesco's in Stalham when we asked for two glasses of port with the cheese!
We suspect that it is on the brink of further investment to improve its slightly dated features, and when done, this would move it up the "very good" category. Would go again for this price / value.
