We booked a half price deal through Inghams. I'm always sceptical about deals, thinking that they must need to fill a rubbish hotel but I couldn't have been more wrong.

The flights were with Jet2.com, good flight times and excellent leg room and seats, I've had worse on longer flights.

We were greeted at the airport by the Inghams reps and directed to the coach. The resort is a short drive away. The hotel was all lit up with christmas lights which we were told were kept all season. Check-in was easy and the rep had the door key cards ready. The White/Flying Reindeer rooms are in the main block and accessible from the main reception or across the car park. The crazy reindeer rooms are in a separate block,

We had flying reindeer rooms which should have had a bath and balcony. However we were given different rooms but still in the main block and I was happy with the rooms so did not query it.
We had a shower room, private sauna, dry cupboard for the ski gear, mini kitchenette with coffee filter machine, kettle, microwave and full size fridge. You need to take your own tea and coffee gear but are provided with washing up liquid. There are three supermarkets in close proximity and an off licence.

The restaurant in the hotel served the usual buffet- nothing fantastic but you wont go hungry. If you want to eat in the other restaurants owned by the hotel you can have a €10 credit per person but you have to order the 3 course meal so this would work out pretty steep. Its expensive in Finland !!!

The hotel bar was never open but we ordered coffee from reception. The lobby is nicely decorated with big comfy leather sofas and very nice to spend a few hours reading.

There are a few bars and nightclubs but we were always too tired to go out after tea. The tv has all finnish channels that show some american and uk programmes but old ones and a bit hit and miss. Take books and dvd player if you get bored easily.

The Levitunturi hotel has a spa- its €18 to enter and €3 to rent a towel so remember to take your own. Shorts are not allowed- speedos only for men. Swimwear is not allowed in the showers or sauna (!!) but the only saunas are in the shower/changing area so no point if you are a couple and have to sit in separate areas in the nude !!!

My teenage sons enjoyed the skiing, we went husky and reindeer safaris- great locals and experiences not to be missed. Dont do the mini ones, they are a waste of time and the huskies you dont even get to drive them, go for the super safaris, loads of fun, The ice hotel was also a good trip. A drink in an ice glass costs €7 but is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

All in all a very enjoyable holiday and a wonderful country.

Good looking hotel from the outside, all lit up with fairy lights.
Inside clean and well maintained.
we stayed in a white reindeer room which has a private sauna,this was well worth the small price upgrade. the room was big enough for two,had wardrobe ,table, chairs, draws, flat screen tv,fridge ,microwave,coffe maker,kettle and hair drier.
bathroom had w c,shower and sink, there was also a drying cupboard for wet/damp clothes.

meals were taken in the 4 floor restaurant (lift included) food was plentiful well cooked with choice - cant say a bad word about food it was great.


You could walk or even ski down to zero point where some of the ski lifts are (3-4 mins) or you could catch a FREE ski bus from outside the hotel to other ski lifts further out.

night time in the hotel was quiet.

will be staying there next year as had such a good time

We went to lapland for a wedding and we were there for a week, some of stayed in the White reindeer and some in the crazy reindeer. Basically the the white reindeer is the main part of the hotel with reception, the resturant and bar etc. the crazy reindeer in a short walk away. The only disadvantage of the crazy is that you would have to get dressed in warm clothes to come for your breaky and dinner!

White reindeer rooms were basic but clean, shower, sauna (great) and drying cabinet thingy, there were two adults and 1 child in out room, two single beds and a chair bed which was satisfactoy, room was on the small side for 3 people but was ok. Little kitchenett with microwave, kettle and fridge! Cleaners came everyday but sometimes a bit early.

Location was great, 2 min walk to the slopes and the ski hire place, and the little town of Levi. Nice bars, souveneir shops and sports wear shops.

Lapland its self was very expencive! i had to buy some more gloves for my 4 year old and the cheapest i could find was 30 Euro! but she needed warm hands -25 that day!

I had not pre booked skiing but wanted to give it a go, for a lift pass for the day it was 30 euros and ski and boot hire 33 euro.

Santa trip was very expencive 49 euro for and adult and 39 for a child, i dont know if its because i am an adult but i wasnt that impressed! It was very expencive for 5 mins with santa, roasting a sausage on an open fire and stroking a reindeer!

My friend got married in the ice chapel which was amazing! the wedding meal was in a resturant at the top of the piest it began with a T i cant remember but the food was amazing!!

Overall a good holiday but very expencive! especially alcohol!

The hotel was fine for what we needed.....namely a base for skiing and family activities. It is easy to ski down to the slopes, and you can get a bus back or walk for a few minutes.

The rooms in the main complex are way too small, and noisy. The 3 bedded room has no room for anything like a hard suitcase, so we had to get out! We asked reception for anything bigger, and were given a 4 bed annex for an extra £80 for the week. It was worth every penny, and lovely to be in. This was definitely money well spent.

The location is fine, just a few minutes walk form the village. I didn't really notice anything dirty about the place, our room was fine.....I see a few have commented on this.

The kids area could do with updating. There is a bouncy castle which is falling to bits and half of a game lying around the play area. Lets be honest though, you don't go there for this sort of thing, but if they are going to do it then they should do it right. The people in reception are friendly and helpful.

Food is ok, but a tad monotonous. Usual buffet stuff....oh, and reindeer.

All in all we were happy. we got a late deal so the price was fine, but if I were to pay the proper rate I might be disappointed.

Just remember.....you are there to see the big guy with the beard, and a few other things. Please don't expect the Ritz, and just enjoy your trip.

One more thing......buy beer from the supermarket and stick it in your fridge. Much nicer and better value than the gassy stuff in the bar. Same for soft drinks for kids.
