The location of the hotel is ok but it's further from the ski lifts than it says in the brochure - it's at least a 15 min walk to the Sportinia lift (which is the quickest) or 10 mins to the Clotes. The ski busses are fairly infrequent, the routes are confusing and tickets are not included on the lift pass.
The hotel is situated on the main square and has a ski shop, supermarket, off licence etc right on the doorstep and a chemist just across the car park.
The hotel staff, particularly in the restaurant, were very helpful and pleasant, which was a contrast to the staff in the bar, The Queen's Lounge. This is an awful English pub attached to the hotel and the noise carries way up to the rooms on the 3rd floor. Service is patchy, 2 out of 3 staff were ok but one took the idea of bad customer service to a new low - it's the first time I've ever been served a drink without being spoken to.
The resort was very quiet when we went but even so our sleep was disturbed on a number of occasions by drunken shouting. Some friends were situated at the front of the hotel overlooking the square and by all accounts it was worse there.
Food in the hotel was ok - better in the evenings than in the mornings when some of the food tended to be cold and the sausages were undercooked every day. Good coffee.
The overall standard of the hotel was ok, although I had expected a bit more from a 4*. The decor in the rooms was a bit naff and they seemed a bit shabby.
Ok resort (although probably not the best of you have kids) with good skiing. Ok hotel in an ok location with good staff but a crap bar. Lager louts could ruin your stay as could the attitude of a certain barmaid.
