The nearest mall from Mayo is an outdoor shopping mall called "The St. Johns Town Center" (10-15 min drive). It really fabulous! And is surrounded by lots of great restaurants too. The closest indoor mall would be "The Avenues Mall" (about 20-25 min drive).

You can take a taxi or city bus (however, I'm not familiar with where all the bus stops are so I'm not sure if there is a bus stop near Mayo, I would assume so). The St. Johns Towne Center is a short drive so a taxi fare should not be very much money.
