As a Jewish person, I'm curious to venture and get a feel for some of the ultra-Orthodox Hasidic areas of New York. Are there any neighborhoods worth exploring? I'm hoping this question doesn't come across as offensive or culturally insensitive. There are certainly Hasidic areas in my city (Toronto), but from what I've read, New York has a rich Jewish history embedded into its history. I went to The Lower East side a while ago, which is now China town. I was told Borough Park, Crown Heights, Monsey and Williamsburg (sp?) have thriving communities?
Does anyone have any insight?
