Yours is a popular question. If you type "what if it rains" or "what to do in the rain" in the forum search box, you'll find great suggestions and advice like these:

p.s. If it's not on your itinerary and you want an alternative to walking around Central Park, I highly reco visiting the New York City Panorama in Flushing Meadow Park, Queens. Its' awesome!
How about enjoy your hotel room. After all you have probably paid a fortune for it. LOL.
Actually we have been in New York in the worst snow storms for years and a couple of years ago we went at Easter and they had a monsoon. We still managed to get out and enjoy our selves. Boots and socks are very a very good idea and a strong umbrella. Nice long lunches and dinners also sound good.
You will have a great time

Ride more buses than you planned and be positive...there's still a 30% chance it won't rain. :)
C'mon, Butch up, It's only rain. Grab your umbrella and head to Central Park. It will be far less crowded and wonderfully atmospheric. Take a rainy walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and dry off in Jacques Torres Chocolates.
Visit New York's indoor attractions. We have museums for every taste, we have galleries, shops, Broadway shows, restaurants. All of which are inside.
