HELP!!! Island Vista, Breakers or Hamptons Inn

-going with my husband and daughter. Do not want all the hustle and bustle, but do not want to be far away from everything that can do at the boardwalk. There are too many hotels/resorts to choice from. I want a little luxury, but also do not want to spend $300 each night....help!?!?!?!

Last year we stayed next door to Island Vista at Monetray bay suites and i walked down to IV and even walked through the pool/lobby area and it was very nice. Probably one of the luxurious in the area, it is in a great location but i think you pay for these luxuries. If it's within your budget i would go for it.

How was Monteray Bay Suites? It is one resort we have looked into.

Definitely stay at Island Vista. Quiet area at north end of Myrtle Beach (not North Myrtle Beach). Beautiful rooms, Egyptian cotton sheets, nice patio with rocking chairs overlooking ocean, great fine-dining restaurant on site. Only drawback was small and slow front desk at check-in and check-out but it was busy season. They have a poolside bar and had afternoon entertainment outdoors when we stayed. We have vacationed many times at The Breakers so, if quiet is what you want, that's not the place for you.

You may want to look at the Caribbean also the new tower only a couple years old very nice and great amenities in a quieter area but still close to activities.

Love the Breakers but if you arent wanting in the middle of everything and a little quieter then I have to agree that this will not be for you.

IV is very nice

Went to Island Vista last spring - we are going back this spring!

We loved it. Practically have the beach to yourself, its surrounded by residential area. A quick walk through resididences a couple of blocks to business 17 and there is everything you need: grocery store, pharmacy, banks and Kirks Ice Cream! The hotel is rather nice, but not in a way you have to worry about - kids are very welcome and our's loved the pool area. One elevator bank - but they are very fast! One thing we didn't like: the on sight restaurant is a little stuffy I thought (might be good, i dont know) and they didn't have an on site store. So, bring snacks and stuff for your sudden hunger moments. They do have a pool side bar that you can order food from around lunch time though. The rooms are great, really great. We loved it.

Right now Island Vista is offering some specials, if you want to check rates. I booked them earlier this year for fall and got awesome rate.

Post if you decide to stay with them so we can check out your comments.
