 Fare Hamara Rental

If you are traveling to Moorea, I highly recommend staying at Fare Hamara.

This was our second trip to Moorea, so we knew what to expect from the island. However, we didn't know what to expect from the rental house, Fare Hamara. I can tell you now, that we were very impressed!

The website photos do not do justice to the house. You really need to see it for yourself.

Your rental fees include rides to and from the Moorea airport by the caretaker, Jacques. He was interesting and thoughtful from the minute he picked us up.

Once we arrived at the house, we were blown away. The house is huge. The view is breathtaking. The furnishings are comfortable. The kitchen has tons of gadgets. It had everything we could have thought of that we might need.

The house is set on a hill away from the road. It is private enough that you can walk around in your bathing suit, but close enough to town that you can easily walk to the beach or small shops. There is a beautiful public beach and small grocery store within a mile of the house. We walked there every day for a fresh chocolate croissant and a swim.

The owners, Bob and Mary, were very nice and professional. The caretaker, Jacques, was always there to help us when we needed him, yet he stayed out of our hair when we wanted privacy.

Overall, I would give this property a 10 out of 10! I will definitely go back.

Would we need a car here? I like the idea of preparing some of the meals, but am trying to get an idea how far away any of restaurants are.

Cheers,

As indicated , a car is a must anywhere on Moorea.

The fare hamara has been in operation for years and can provide all the answers to most questions.

I consider the fare hamara to be among the best fvalue for the money on Moorea (especially for family or group of friends travel). Take a group of 5 renting the villa and a car, that brings the sya per person at $ 420! hard to beat (short of staying at the camping site).

Glad to see that Avis is offering special rates for the guests of the fare hamara. Another proof that they have thought about everything there....

Tiki...I don't see where Bob has done anything against the rules. He is giving advice on the need to rent a car, and where to go to ask specific questions about it. That s fully accpetable and within the guidlines.

From a prior post, "As indicated , a car is a must anywhere on Moorea."

I would humbly disagree with this. I've been to Moorea several times, with the exception of renting a car for one day to cirle the island at out own pace I've never reanted a car just to sit out fron most of the time. Though I wouldn't count on the Le Truck for catching a plane or ferry for my return I have often jumped on board to run around the island. I've also been lucky to catch a ride from time to time from nice Moorea folks, not with my thumb hanging out, just walking and they would offer a ride. Several times when I've been at the main market south of the ferry terminal I've simply asked nicely for a lift in the back of a truck, never had anyone say no .......

Catching the Le Truck from the ferry to your hotel is no big deal, yes you have your luggage but big no problem .........

The cost of a rental car for a week is simialr in amount as your total eating cost for the week for 2 people ......

Le Truck & a free ride might not be for everyone but I don't have a problem with it, when in Rome do as the Romans do .....
