Night Tours - Explore Sao Paulo Afterdark

We don't have much time in Sao Paulo. We arrive 6PM on a Friday night and will be leaving for Cusco the next morning. It's our first time in SP and would like to "see" it with what little time we have.

We booked at Ibis Paulista and just plan to find a nice restaurant around the area and maybe stroll around? My wife and I don't normally go to bars and discos but she likes to shop and sightsee. I don't mind listening to some samba or bossa nova music.

Do you know of any tour operators who do night tours around Sao Paulo? Is the area safe to explore on our own at night? Thanks

Thanks so much for replying. Was just planning to eat dinner in the Jardin district and then maybe find a coffee shop in Rua Oscar Freire afterwards to people watch. Heard it's a nice enough area.

Will definitely try to email the two tour operators for night tours. That way we get to see more of Sao Paulo.

I am a bit spoilt for choice with SP restaurants as there are too many, I've taken out Braz and Carlota from the list since I can try them in their Rio branches. Hopefully similar standards.

I am torn between eating at a restaurant with a view like Skye/Terraco Italia or Brasil a Gosto, Tordesilhas, Fogo de Chao? How's the dining experience among them? If you can only dine in one restaurant in Sao Paulo which one would leave a good impression?

BTW, do you have to dress up to eat out in SP? Would long sleeves, denim and black rubbershoes be acceptable?

Skye is a good place to have drinks before or after dinner...

Tordesilhas has the best brazilian food,IMO but it lacks in ambience and location is not the best

Brazil a Gosto has the best ambience and location is perfect if you want to go to Oscar Freire afterwords...

For meat Fogo de Chão is superb...consider also Rodeio( not rodizio tho) Great food, great place and ambiemce .On the corner of the best part of Oscar Freire.
