I took a break at Cheetal Grand along with my family on the way back from Nussorie Rishikesh on 25th June 2009 around 3 oclock after noon . since I heard a lot about this place i was expecting great food and ambience.I sat on one of the river view table under shed it was burn ing hot because peak summer, their covered air cooled dining looks uncleaned and hot so opted out sie, I requested for menu and asked about the proition so I can order adequate no.of dishes.
surprisingly waiter exclaimed that full portion of dal is not even enough for two, on top there are no dal Tadka and allo gobhi ( channa dal + split gram ) available wich are a specialities and most preferred dishes on high ways eateies.
Any way I ordered on waiters recomendation as all my choices were not availablr- a dal tadka( their choice of Malka Masar), kadhai Paneer and mix veg, Raita, chapatis, and also opted for allo tikki, Veg Pakora, a bottle of Limca,and ready made tea, raw onion in salad - not to forget they dont give onions as acccompniments.
And this is what we got-
* Malka Masar Dal precisely 100 gms a portion and with Lump of foregin Particle which looked like a dough.Discoloured Mix veg with foul smell,Horrible tasteless Alloo Tikkies,cold pakors,Limca was not served, on showing foul smell and foreign particle in dishes , waiter agreed and could deduct only dal from bill.
The only dishes we enjoyed was Kadhai Paneer - because it was more than double the price and Ready made tea, Pakora was not charged in bill but cash was taken.
I will recomend this place for using toilets and ready made tea, thats it , beyond this all at your risk folks.
