Pool vs Views in early sept ?

Hi

We will be in Santorini the 1st Week of Sept 2010 and are tossing up between accom with a view of the caldera with no pool or accom with a pool with no caldera view in Oia or Fira.A pool is by no means essential but it would be nice after not having one in Naxos or Ios. I have noticed it is slightly cooler in sept than say august? Unfortunantly with a budget of 100euro per night you can"t have it all.Any opinions would be welcomed

Thanks Again

Check with Lauda Hotel. You might get both a room with a view and a pool for €100/night there. But if you have to choose, take a hotel with a view. There's a pool in Oia you can use, the Lioyerma Cafe/Pool on the sunset end of the village.

Santorini is all about the wonderful views. Yes a hotel with a pool and a view would be ideal but at your budget not too likely. Go for the view!

By the way, Lauda is surely closed now until April so you'll have to wait until then to contact them for pricing.

Unfortunately is not possible to combine view and pool with your budget.

Hi,

Think outside of the box of tourist hype for Santorini.

You can easily get a hotel with swimming pool in Kamari beach or Perissa for less than 100 Euro, no problem, much better value for money resorts. Small island, so easy to go to Oia or Fira by bus hire car or whatever. Fira and Oia will be still be horrendously overcrowded then anyway. Those two beach resorts are a load more relaxing and more pleasant places to stay. Early Sept is still very hot in Santorini.

Thanks for info hippy

But We are spending 14 days on the beach in calabria italy and then 7 days on the beach in naxos and 7 days on the beach in ios prior to santorini and have looked at both the places you have mentioned but have decided that we would like to stay up in fira or oia for our time in santorini for something a little different rather than doing the beach thing again here.

Thanks Again

I was last summer in Oia, in Laokasti villas -hotel one week. The garden in the hotel was very nice, there were also a pool. In the hotel there were no caldera views, but you must walk only over the street, and then you have views.

Try to get studio with two floors, then you have your own sunbeds in front of your studio. I can´t anymore remember the price of the studio, but anyway, it was under 100 euros per night.
