I am planning a trip to Washington this summer, including Port Angeles, and I'm hoping to include a trip to Victoria.
It will be my husband and me and our 2.5-year-old son. I have considered spending a night in Victoria, but a day trip from PA would be easier to work in if it is feasible. I would like to see the Inner Harbour area and just get a general sense of the city. We are both kind of Anglophiles. We are interested in history, and I would love to do a little shopping, maybe on Government Street. Also, it would be great to find some attraction our son would enjoy. Just a fun playground or park to run around in would suffice, or maybe the bug zoo?
If we choose to bring the car over, is Victoria an easy city to drive around and see by car? If no car, is it possible to walk from the ferry and see what we want on foot? I like the idea of having the car as a base where our son can nap, etc., but not if parking and navigating is going to be scary or stressful.
Which would you recommend? Any suggestions for a one-day itinerary for us? Thanks a lot!
