Runaway Bay forum Hi guys, just wondering if anyone knows how far this journey takes?? My sister is flying out to meet us mid holiday but if she flies to Montego Bay she has to get a connecting flight in Kingston 4 hours later, then do the hour and a half journey from Montego Bay. Thought it might be better to go straight from Kingston by Taxi, anyone got any views on this??

I'm hoping i understand your situation, she arrives in Kingston, connects to Mobay after a four hour layover and then an hour and a half drive to Runaway? (drive shouldn't take much more than an hour, unless there's traffic)...
regardless Kingston to Runaway via taxi would take around 2 1/2 hours i'd say... could be much longer if you get stuck in Kingston during rush hour... or bad weather... taxi transfer would be about 100 US each way...

It will take about two hours if the driver knows the road - there is a shortcut which by-passes Ocho Rios. And, yes, it will cost about a hundred dollars. It is a much better option than waiting for the flight to MoBay. Traffic shouldn't be a problem sine you don't have to go into Kingston - the airport road runs along the coast and you only have to skirt downtown Kingston which is rarely a problem.
