Hello Cat,
How long are you staying for?
I would suggest the following.
Kingston has many lovely beaches. Two are with white sand. Lime Cay and Hellshire beach. Both are only a short boat ride away from Pt Royal.
Take a flight into Kingston and unwind to get rid of the stress of preparing
the trip and also to get over the jetlag. Try this hotel. Only 15 minutes from the airport.
By doing this, you will be well prepared for the duration of your stay.

In the town of Port Royal. Buchaneer´s Roost Restaurante...
Lively local place. Enjoy a delicious hot soup and Lobster dinner.
OR go over to the popular GLORIAS for a fish dinner and the ambience.
OR have a nice meal at the hotel.
This hotel has the best and most spectacular romantic setting.
Looking out to the harbour with the mountains of Kingston in the background.
At nightime the lights add a special effect to the whole setting.
The next day you can take the ferry boat that will take you across the harbour and to
the city of Kingston where you can stroll through the Crafts Market and see parts of the New Kingston area as well.
The ferry has regular transits and will take you back whenever you want to.
The sunrise in JAM is about 05:30am This is a special time of day to see the harbour and all its activities taking place.
For a stroll back in time, and definatley a Historical learning delight, have a walking tour through Port Royal.

Kingson is the capital of Jamaica and by far has the best and most active night life. If you get caught up in it, you will be constantly invited from one place or club to another.
If all you want is to enjoy being a beach bum, then OCHO RIOS is a nice scenic drive of nearly 2 hours. Including stoppage time as well. Check out a place called ROOMS ON THE BEACH.

Another place that is well worth the trip is called Port Antonio. A lovely 2.5 hour ride bordering the coastline will take you there.
