They have changed their name from gotraveldirect to gotravelsouth. They no longer fly from Montreal, they only leave from Ottawa and Halifax. They have cut their destinations big time. They tell me that that will result in better customer service. They do not have insurance packages on their site (only cancelation), they tell me they are still preparing them. They have a new airline "Flair Air", from Kelowna B.C., they tell me I am going to enjoy this plane, it has more leg room. They do not have the rates yet for group rates. They do not have a toll free number, I was told "no not yet but it is coming". They do not have any flights leaving until December and and in April you only have about 4 hotels to choose from. Two week vacations are also cut, they do have them but not alot. When you call you hear the voice message telling you the hours but they are not open those hours, they are closed on saturdays (so far). Each time we call the same girl answers the phone they do not have their call centre operators yet. So, I dont know what we should do.

I am a bit scared, I booked my trip online. My payment was refused, when I called the bank they told me "Carabean Market" tried to process my credit card.. the phone number Gor travel gave me is 902-482-1109... I don't know where that is. The deposit is more half the trip instead of 250$ a person! I am afraid this company is bogus. I don't know what to do right now!

OMG., I am worried for you also. I have been doing a lot of digging and if I was you I would not push to book that trip until you read the info I found. We are a group of 16 that came real close to booking but thank god for a response I got and a suggestion to google www.gotravelsouth. I found lots of info there and today I read an article online Ottawa Business Journal with the headline "Murky future for GoTravel". You may want to read that. Today at gotravel we were told that because they pulled out of TICO that basically you have to find your own coverage if something happens with the company. They told us to call our visa or our house insurance. Also, they told us they no longer have an Ottawa office it is now only Halifax, where they do not need to be covered by tico. Pesonally, I think I am going with another company, this is all too shaky, we have students coming with us, I do not want to think what could happen if they went belly up while I was away.

Hello fellow travelers , i have used Go Travel in the past years and was really happy with their services. I called ealier in the summer and nothing was available. However I noticed recently that they have a redesigned site with a new name. I called in to book as everything seemed the same as the past years and asked about the name change and was told that the name was rebranded. They have a new airline, which is called Flair Airlines and it is a Canadian Airline. As for the credit card processor i paid with my Visa and was charged in Us dollars; either way your card is issued by your bank therefore you are protected by the bank anyway(I know this because I work for TD). I also read the Ottawa Business Journal article and i found it more about Zoom Airlines, which used to fly Go Travel customers. I feel very confident that the services will be as great as before and i had no problem with booking with them again. Can't wait for my vacation! ;o)

Why would they have taken your payment out in U.S funds?

i did ask why the payment was in Us dollars and was told that was because the credit card processor they used processes in funds. the amount that i was charged was the same amount on my statement and there were no problems with it.

I just received a postcard from Go Travel south.com but I can't get on the website cause it is not under that address unless I am looking in the wrong place. Anyhow they are advertising under the new name and are offering cruises also for $1149 starting at. It is call teh sun season opeing special. It says flights direct from Ottawa but the address is out of Halifax. I hope it can make a go of it. We travelled to Cancun when it was Go Travel Direct and were very pleased with them. I would like to see what they have to offer this time around if I can get on to the website. What have you been going under to get into the site?
