Cuba is affected by the jets stream (air)

Being from Toronto you can probably relate to this ...

We have had cool weather here in Toronto the last few days because the jet stream has been funnelling cold air from the north down to us

End of this week the jet stream will dip down to the mid southern states and we will get warm weather tomorrow and over the weekend.

So in respect to Cuba

If the jet stream stay higher in North America then it will be hot there.

If it dips down toward Florida with a trough of cold air coming from the north then it will be cool there.

Florida has had frost on occasion

The Gulf Steam (water) flows past Varadero so this keeps the water temperature warm year round.

So winter can bring a mixture of both so have some warmer clothes for evenings and the odd day.

It will be hot in Varadero the next few days

Oh ... and take sunscreen cause you will burn even if overcast

If you scroll to the Botton of the Allegro review page it should tell you any other names it was listed under. In your case I believe it was the "Varadero 1920"

Wow changing name again this was Club Med then Bahía Principe then Playa Varadero 1920 then Oasis Varadero 1920 and now the Allegro .

Instead of changing name like they did on the last 10 years hope they have a good budget so they can repair this place as it has a great beach and garden but the rest of the resort is falling apart from them not investing any money on this resort .

I can,t remember which member on this forum who talked about this a couple of weeks back and said that he knew the new manager that was going to take over this place so i hope this person will make a major clean up at this place because when i went there in 2006 then in 2007 could not believe how this place went down the drain in 8 months so lets hope for the best .

Hopefully the new management will do something for the quality. At present, it is a low 3* resort.

Do you know why Allegro Varadero shows in most sites as 3 stars but when it still using the old names (Playa Varadero 1920 or Oasis Varadero 1920) it shows as 4 stars?

Well if they show know as a 3 star thats were they are supose to be because when you say when it was Oasis Varadero 1920 they were a 4 star and trust me this place had nothing of a 4 star resort looked more like a 2 star or as Particular Cuba said a low 3 star.

Wow, guys you scared me. Low 3* .... We already bought the tickets. I'll write my review when I come back on Feb. 01, 2010.
