Thomson Dreamliner Premium

Due to fly the Dreamliner on Tuesday to Florida and wondered if Premium passengers get noise cancelling headphones and if so, are they good? Not expecting Bose or a premium brand but wondered if they were effective and comfortable.

You do get them, I'm not sure what make they are as they're TUI branded but they're good quality and seem effective in the short trial I've had.

Thank you for you quick response. If anyone else has used for a long trip as my flight is over 9 hours. Thanks.

I haven't used the ones on the Dreamliner but assuming they are the same as an ordinary long haul premium flight on thomsons I would rate them as very good ( and comfortable to wear )

I flew to Cancun last Thursday on a Dreamliner and was given 'noise cancelling' headphones. Whilst they were a big improvement on others provided by Thomsons in the past they were nowhere as good as my Sennheiser CX 300-II in ear headphones (£37 in Dixons).

Quick review of the Dreamliner and Premium Economy. We flew on 9 July from Glasgow to Orlando which took about 8 hours and 30 mins. The Dreamliner is big plane, clearly not as big as the A380 but its still a big plane. Inside it feels very spacious and the larger windows really open up the plane with great views. The seating plan in premium was 2-3-2 and I was sat in the aisle seat as part of the three seats and had good views of the outside world. It is unbelievably quiet, I travel a lot by plane and this is the quietest plane I have been on by quite some margin. Thomson is obviously very proud of these planes and there was a lot of explanation of the new plane from both the captain and the crew, who demonstrated the excellent mood lighting. The seats in Premium are large and comfortable with plenty of legroom and two armrests for each seat. However, they do not recline as much as I thought so not really so good for sleeping on the way back. Each seat has a pull out tray in one arm rest and the entertainment screen in the other. The choice of movies was pretty good and I managed to watch three on each journey. I had my own noise-cancelling headphones which I used mostly but I did use the Thomson provided ones for one movie on the way back and thought they were ok, but not brilliant. The service was excellent with complimentary drinks throughout and plenty of food and snacks provided. On the way back my daughter's screen did not work and the crew could not get it working, which was disappointing, particularly on a brand new aircraft. Overall a great experience and I am glad we payed extra for Premium although I guess the Dreamliner helped the experience. Pros: Dreamliner experience, service, legroom. Cons, broken screen on the way back and limited recline of the seats.

The premium seats have limited recline for a reason. It's so the people sitting behind can still get out.

Well clearly, but it's still a fact that they do not recline much. For Premium seat I expected they would recline more; hence my comment.

Sure enough seats do recline, but do they really need to?

I always seem to suffer when the guy in front reclines and restricts 'my' personal space - even in Premium on Virgin!

Don't like reclining seats!
