  "We had dinner here on Thursday, following a recommendation by the owner of the apartment we were renting. We were lucky to get the last table (at 8.30pm). The restaurant was packed and warm and there was a nice atmosphere. We didn't have to wait too long for our starter (crab pâté), though my p..."referred option (fish cakes) would have taken 20 minutes. The pâté was delicious and a larger portion than one would get elsewhere. The bread was also generous. For main course I had ostrich and my wife had kangaroo. Both were superb, cooked to perfection and accompanied by a wonderful and interesting salad and a big bowl of chips, all piping hot. I didn't feel the need for a dessert but my wife had a tart which was nice. The house rosé was good. All told, an excellent meal and pleasant occasion. This is quite an expensive restaurant but the quality, originality and portion sizes justify the prices. Not hard to see why it's rated No. 1! " More >

  "Called to Bostwicks found it to be closed ( no reason posted in the window why ) then we found Harpers on Newbiggin built on the site of the old petrol station and what a find it was. We both had the haddock chips tea bread and butter meal which was like the title of the review says The Best by far ..."in the whole of Hornsea,the place is spotless clean the staff are pleasant it was very busy with take away meals all the time we were in which shows the food is good.Tuesday and Wednesday you can have fish and chips for two at the cost of £10.00, call in and give it try it does open as stated in the window. p.s the photo below is the actual shop.
