"As a gift to my husband for his birthday whilst we were in Bali, I booked 'a day in the life of a Bali fisherman' experience followed by a cooking lesson at Bali Asli. I chose it due to the excellent reviews on here and was definitely not disapointed.
Fishing off the North coast of Bali with a view..." of Ayung Volcanoe as a back drop was a fantastic start to the day, our guide was friendly, and despite not catching any fish, we had a great time.
We were then taken to Bali Asli for our cooking lesson. The view from the kitchen and restaurant was breathtaking... And i have never been to a toilet with such a good view (you will have to go to see what I mean!). The lesson was done in a relaxed manner, and you can tell the head Chef Penny is very passionate about Balinese food. "This place is run by an extremely capable young Australian woman (Penny) who purchased the land and built this amazing complex in the eastern part of Bali overlooking mountains, rainforests and rice fields. The food really is authentic Balinese, is very, very fresh and tasty and inspired by what Pe..."nny finds at the market each morning. The menu changes daily. Penny also runs a Cooking Class and although we did not attend, it is definitely on the agenda for our next visit. The restroom also will not disappoint and is certainly one of the most spectacular I have ever visited. No problems recommending this restaurant.

"Kadek and his wife have a great little restaurant in Bunutan, Amed.
Weather you come for lunch or dinner, everything is always made with the freshest ingredients.
For a special family occasion it is also possible to order something special, as we did the Chicken Tutu. I had it before in another re..."staurant and did not like it at all; but here it is the special treat you expect. All dishes looked beautiful and the sambal mata is the best !
If ever in Amed, you must stop at Corner Warung,
Thank you Kadek for the wonderfull meals we had in the 10 days we stayed in Amed.
Hope to visit you again soon.
Ellen & family
