  "This is an establishment that in many respects troubled us however there is no doubt that the food is outstanding. Let me explain. The menu is promoted as being heavily Cornish and very locally based. This appears to be the case. We majored on seafood and can highly recommend the Plaice with caper a..."nd mushroom sauce and the Hake with seafood cassoulet. These were both beautiful fresh dishes, well presented. Next we took the banana loaf (special) and the Cornish cheese board with home made flat breads, once again the food was outstanding. Now for the enigma, the pricing is top end, which the food deserves but let's look at where the establishment falls down. The decor is dated and cheesy. The staff are polite, friendly but a bit lack lustre. The wine list is unimaginative and expensive. The cutlery is cheap and nasty.
