"This was our second visit to The Lamb. As previously, the decor and atmosphere were perfect, old world country pub with a Scottish decorative flare. The food was OK, I had a blue vinny rocket salad followed by sausages with mash and the special of the day dessert, the iced banana parfait. The blue ..."vinny was delectable as always but the accompanying salad lacked gusto and the vinny portion could have been more generous. The sausage and mash was lovely. The dessert needed a ice pick to make it to the spoon and although large, quickly became a little boring after a few mouth fulls.
There was a slight error on our bill with a bottle of wine we had selected but which we were told was out of stock being included. This was quickly rectified when we alerted staff. Drinks ordered mid main course took an age to come which meant we were left with beer and coke as accompaniments to dessert rather than the usual coffes we would have liked to order!
Overall, we enjoyed the meal as the atmos...

"We visited this pub on the spur of the moment to break up a long journey home following a day watching rugby at Twickenham. My husband had found The Lamb some years ago and had enjoyed a meal there, so thanks to his strong sense of direction (and ever-present need for a good meal) we pulled up outsi..."de with high expectations on a gloriously sunny evening.

The waitress was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu; our meals arrived after about 25 minutes and we were shown to our table in the dining room/bar area. There were linen napkins and ground salt and pepper pots on scrubbed pine tables, and a happy, busy atmosphere. After our hectic day out we'd opted for the home-made burgers with a variety of accompaniments an...

"Sorry we're late in reviewing but been away again so now catching up. We stayed in the 'Partridge' room which was a real treat, four poster bed and sloping floors. What more could you ask from an ancient coaching inn. Bed comfortable and room well decorated, clean and well appointed.
Landlord at..."tentive and friendly, delightful waiting staff - special mention for Patsy? (Saturday breakfast waitress) whose advice was invaluable for our visit to Salisbury. Excellent breakfast selection which really set us up for the day. Evening meals also of very good quality if somewhat limited in range. The 'special' was the same both nights and the menu in general was fixed.
Although a little bit more expensive than than the average this is not your average pub in your average village and far more value for money then the vaunted 'Lamb at Hindon by Boisdale' across the road. Perhaps the latter is a London thing!!
