"The mark of Hurricane Sandy remains on a rebuilding City Island. Another venue had to be found for a post training luncheon on or near City Island and I recommended to the person chairing that they go to Artie's. I have been there many times over the years and was never disappointed. Well, we weren'..."t this time either. PP price was excellent and the amount of food put out mind boggling: antipasto, mussels, calamari, salad and then the main course choices. Desert and coffee followed. What made the experience all the more delightful was that the lead waitress had an amazing "customer" attitude. No request was a problem and any issues were handled promptly and with good cheer. Sorry I didn't get her name but she was a real asset.

"If your visiting New York, if you live in New York you know about it or you should.
First let me say when you hear the Bronx and your visiting I know what your thinking is it safe? Yes very safe in a very nice part of the Bronx, hey you did not know these existed, well they do and you will be s..."urprised.
Location, for us who stayed around Newark International Airport, about an hour north of the airport, easy to find, Google GPS took me right to the restaurant.
Parking: Free valet parking, nice.
Food: Excellent, I had the crab cakes my wife the fried shrimp. Crab cakes they give you three large crab cakes the size of a quarter pound burger and sides for $27. We come from a seafood area and you do not get as much for the price. Taste was great, no fillers or very litte, comes with a salad, and choice of sides, I had the sweet potato fries, nice since I'm on a diet.
Shrimp was good too, not as good as the best fried shrimp in Virginia Beach, but they were go...

"There is something comfortable, warm and familiar about the Artie's with the food and service consistently good - no matter the season. I haven't experimented much with the entrees and on my visits I have preferred a light fares from the appetizer list. My personal favorites have been the cup of c..."reamy rich New England Clam Chowder followed by the Mussels Fra Diavlo. The latter is done in a spicy and flavourful spicy tomato based red sauce. The baked clams and crabcakes are also very tasty. If you prefer something more mainstream then the grilled burgers are a must- delicious and filling.
