"The food is the draw. Well prepared fresh simple food. Attentive service. A very dated environment (including the server's blue dresses and chairs that I think might be original to the restaurant's 19th century origins). Despite its steeped in tradition decor, this is the best food on Route 20 f..."or many miles around and well worth trip from Rochester. They have started to bring the restaurant into the digital age with online specials and occasional coupons, as well as an e-mail mailing list for additional specials and events. Among the specials that I like best are the Friday fish fry which includes a choice of desserts.

"This was a family dinner and our first time at this historic place. Staff the greeted us and seated us were not friendly. Our waitress Peggy was great. The menu for Mother's Day was limited to about 10 choices. We chose Filet Mignon, duck, spinach raviolis and Seafood Newburgh. The restaurant w..."as busy and there a bit of a wait for our food. The relish tray, rolls and salads were a plus. Our 4 entrees and a child's meal were good and come with vegetables and mashed potatoes.
The desserts are ok but not spectacular. They are included in the price of your meal. The bill for 4 adults, one child, drinks before dinner, tip and tax was $200. In general, I would say that the food was good but too pricey.
