"In town for the day and we were recommended this place by a local at the waterfront. The restaurant was surprisingly large and quite busy. The place was a little dark but ceilings were high. There were brick walls and wood floors.
I ordered jambalaya and my fiancee ordered the artichoke chicke..."n. We both had the featured fajita soup. The soup was delicious. Although the artichoke chicken was advertised as creamy, it wasn't. There wasn't a lot of flavor. The jambalaya had good flavor but was surprisingly dry with very little rice. It wasn't traditional jambalaya.
It was an okay restaurant that we would not make a special trip back to go to again.

"It's hard to find a place in Mid-Michigan where the majority of the food isn't rather unhealthy. Heather's has a nice selection of fresh food and flavors (like curry) that are hard to find in the area. I had an egg scramble and watermelon as a side, which was a nice update from greasy options like..." a burger and fries. The atmosphere is vibrant and casual, and we had a good time. The prices are good for what you get too. Don't be afraid to take traditionalists with you - bacon is still on their menu along with all the veggie goodness.
