"I'm not surprised that I'm their first review. It's a family business that's been around for 40+ years so their clientele are from word of mouth, locals, you know. It's a catering business that's got such a following that they open for lunch Monday through Friday from 10:30pm - 2:30pm. And because..." you'll find Chef Joey LaBella in the kitchen cooking for one or more events, lunch guests always have a choice of a hot-plate meal that rivals many high end restaurants in the city.
Ms. Judy, his wife, will greet you and probably take your order for hot palate lunch or maybe a New Orleans Po-boy or even one of the best Muffuletta's in the South, my personal favorite. Nearly everything is homemade. And you'll always find other LaBella family working.
It may be out-of-the-way but I consider it out-of-this-world!
BTW. Ask if Joey made Bread Pudding today...you'll slap your mama it's so good!

"This place is down the street from my office and I have ate here probably 100 times. I live the pulled pork platter, Carolina sandwich and my absolute fab is the fire cracker chicken strips (hot). The cheese fries are awesome as well. Best ranch dressing I know of. I did try the burger once and didn..."t care for it too much. I pretty much stick with my regular stuff. The only bad thing I can say about this place is they always have new waitress and waiters. They must have a high turnover ratio because everything I eat here there is new people working there. Food is pretty good for a casual place to grab a bite to eat. Try the firecracker strips if you like the idea of spicy chicken strips dipped in ranch. Good stuff!!!
