"We got in to Port Wentworth about 8:30 Sunday night, so Paula Dean's place was closed. I wasn't wanting to spend that much anyway. We made our decision about 90 miles south of here that we would check it out. All of these other positive reviews helped us make this choice. The first thing that impre..."ssed me was that I called and in just one ring, Lee answered. Good news, they close at 10. I was getting excited to get there. So we rolled in between 8 and 9. We got out of the Suburban, and were checking out the HUGE rocking chair. That was cool. We had 3 kids sitting side by side in a few pics. Before we could go inside, we were greeted by an employee. I didn't get her name, but it seemed like a real sweet tea kind of moment! We met the greeter, and she offered an outside option for us, as they weren't busy. They even brought our pets a bowl of water. It was very welcoming for us since most places aren't positive towards dogs. Thank you guys! OK, the service was great! Lee and the kitche...

"An extreme weather report over the radio shortened our planned drive time on our semi annual north-south trek. We pulled off I95 at exit 109 to stay at the Sleep Inn. The gal at the front desk told us about this little restaurant just next door that was privately owned and offered a nice variety on..." the menu,. As soon as we got in the storm followed full blast. We sat at the bar area enjoying our drinks and watching the sheets of rain and lightening. Needless to say that was all followed by a major power outage. The doors were flying open, and the rain was coming into through the front door. My husband helped the young lady hold the doors shut until they could lock them! It seemed most of the people in the dining room were understanding and patient while the staff did their best to calculate the checks, offer free drinks or dessert for the inconvenience and deal with Mother Nature's unwelcome visit. One family had come in just after the power went out saying that the kids were ...

"I have lived in this area for over 18 years now. It has always been a smaller quiet area, however recently has began expanding. There's a few bar-like places to eat along with several fast food and a Mexican restaurant, which isn't anything new, or special. But since this past October, when sweet te..."a grille opened, I along with several others are relieved to finally have an actual "nice" restaurant that's a pleasant environment that a family could enjoy together. The staff is excellent but I want to point out that the manager is amazing. Nina is the only manager I have ever seen that actually interacts with the customers and makes sure your visit was worth while and is even better with children. As long as Nina is there, you will be seeing me there as well! My favorite appetizer is the soul rolls, different, but delicious! And the shrimp and grits are to-die-for! Dessert wise, the peanut butter pie is the way to go, it melts away in your mouth ! For anyone, I suggest sweet tea grille. ...
