"We arrived in Apia via RCCL Cruise ship for the day and were looking for a local experience. Being from Hawaii we often think we have the market cornered on the "Aloha Spirit". Not so, owners Peter and his wife Kalala have made Cafe Sele a local landmark in the short time since it was built (only ..."a year ago I believe). Cafe Sele is clean with high ceilings and local decor, open air with fans makes it quite comfortable even on the hot day we arrived. We found them to have an abundant and friendly staff (all spoke great English) that waited on us hand and foot. Coffee was 100% better than the sludge the cruise ship had been serving and Chef Kalala's food is worthy of any 5-Star Honolulu restaurant. Funny we all tried something different, Debbie (from Salt Lake City) wanted Thai food, I was longing for something local from home (Hawaii) so I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki and oddly enough both our husbands were tired of the fancy ship food and went for the "Chili Fries".
