"We arrived at Chez Louise's dock with out chartered sailboat. She and her brother came out to help us dock. They don't speak much english, but her daughter speaks english. We got along fine with our limited french. There is no menu, Louise fixes whatever the best catch is and serves it all in lo..."ng bamboo "dishes". We had lobster, fried parrot fish, prawns and poisson cru, white rice and fresh bread. Wonderful quality, very well prepared. Probably our best meal in French Polynesia. A couple from the Le Tahaa Resort that was dining there agreed. The setting is a very casual covered but open polynesian style "room" right at the water's edge iluminated by candles and lamps, very welcoming! The appointments are not fancy at all but the place is comfortable and clean. We certainly didn't notice any dead bugs, cats or otherwise mentioned in other reviews. Reservations are needed. It was an evening we will fondly remember.

"Chez Louise is a great option if you are looking for some adventure and a good meal. It's pretty rustic with plastic chairs and tables and lizards and cats running around. But the food itself is pretty tasty. The lobster was delicious and the fish was excellent and fresh. The other stuff that ca..."me with the meal was okay. I did feel a little annoyed when we had to pay, it was more then I expected because I had dollars and not polynesian francs even though we asked the resort how much it would be in dollars. Overall I would recommend it. If you really want lobster though, I would have the hotel call and ask if she has some because they really prepare what they catch:)

"Chez Louise certainly offers a laid back admosphere, and if you enjoy fresh seafood it can't be beat. There is no menu, it is just "seafood" - providing four different seafood dishes to enjoy. They offer two kinds of wine - red and white, and don't take credit cards.
We have been there twice ov..."er the years and each time it was our favorite meal on the islands. Food is caught fresh each day and truly delicious! We can't wait to go back.
