"I was told of this restaurant by a friend I was travelling with and we went to check it out.
Was really impressed! Great food, good atmosphere and fabulous service.
The owner was very friendly, chatting to everyone and finding out where they are from.
We even got a free dessert and a shot of Iris..."h whiskey (I'm Irish!)
And got some snacks for the train the next day when we mentioned we were going to Hiroshima.
Food was really yummy too! Was lovely to have something European - I got some delicious cheeses and a nice salad.
Definitely would highly recommend this place if you're in Nagasaki!

"Garçon Ken was one of my great surprises in Nagasaki.
This French Bistro is located very close to Dejima, the former island for Dutch merchants artificially built in the bay of this city.
The bistro´s decor, mostly in pink and red, is based on Parisian restaurants and is very welcoming and styl..."ish. The chef and owner, Ken, is very interested in fashion and, as a Francophile, covered his bistro with French newspapers and magazines, including magazine cover model photos.
The food is very exquisite and the price equally fair. It includes salads, soups, meat, fish, poultry and delicious desserts. You can also try French wines, brandies, etc.
Ken is a show in his own. Very friendly, and fluente in English, French and Japanese, he makes you feel welcome and explain every dish with careness.
I just loved this gastronomic experience in Nagasaki!

"We had the pleasure to eat dinner at this lovely restaurant. The owner Ken is Japanese but speaks also French & English.
The restaurant is well located in the Dejima district. The decor of the dinning room replicates a French bistro and the French music in background creates the impression that you..." are actually not in Japan but in Paris!
Ken kindly described "La Carte" for us & it was hard to make a final choice because it sounds all very delicious!
We choose the terrine, green salad, lamb & chicken a la moutarde. All the dishes were delicious and so was the wine!!!
The service was fine but what makes the experience interesting its the host who is absolutely lovely with all his guests! The food was very tasty specially the terrines and the chicken. We are recommending the restaurant if you want to make a change from Japanese food, feel like having lovely meal in a nice atmosphere and meet Ken who is super nice!
