  "Walking along Nguyen Thien Thuat St after eating, we met Phong, the bartender/manager of Rock City. He was so enthusiastic about his bar, we just couldn't resist his invitation to check it out as we love our rock. It's a big place, well decorated in dark shades and good lighting, with two good size..."d bars, one in the middle and one at the back. The sound system is pretty good, although it was Internet stuff that was on when we were there. (They have live bands from nine pm at the weekends.) Good range of scotch Whisky, although I managed to finish their entire stock of Red Label. Bar was quiet when we were in. No idea why that is? But it meant we were allowed to put our own choices on the system. Phong joined in with his favourite, the Cranberries' Zombies. Good bar. Will go back to check out the live bands at the weekend.   "Checked into our hotel and went for a wander to find something snacky to eat after our flight from HCMC. Found this place on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai. DH had a straight coffee with a piece of carrot cake while I opted for a cappuccino and a slice of lime & meringue pie. Both coffees were absolutely f..."ine. Carrot cake was massive, nice and moist. Lemon meringue pie was tasty, and suitably tart to taste. Service from our young attendant was super, very friendly and helpful. She even put on some French musak for us (even though we aren't French). Good value. All in all, a refreshing change from the multinationals who have homogenised afternoon coffee to its lowest denominator. " More >
