"I had the pleasure of returning for lunch to a restaurant in the Place Pasteur district of Tunis the other day with a friend. The restaurant, "La Salle a Manger", which opened in 2008, just keeps getting better and better! As soon as you walk in the door to the outer terrace, surrounded by greenery,..." you know you are in a special place. The blackboard lists daily specials, which combine French and Tunisian influences, along with creative cooking…with each dish artfully displayed. But these attributes of a successful restaurant are not where it ends! In addition, the restaurant now has a license to serve wine, with a wine menu that presents many options, both Tunisian and imported. A great incentive to return for dinner.

"We went with some colleagues for dinner and it was an outstanding place, inside a beautiful ancient house we were served a "tunisian mojito" which was a great apperitif to start a great and amazing dinner of local cuisine."
"I was admittedly a little hesitant to try a restaurant that had one review on here, and was recommended by Lonely Planet in 2011. But it was still there, and the food was pretty good. I also had a decent chicken couscous for only 3.8 dinar. The portion was huge and it was located just outside the ol..."d city gate. The staff doesn't speak much English, but the menu is in French. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a cheap, local, and delicious restaurant.
